WE JUST GOT THIS NECKLACE IN FROM A MAJOR COLLECTOR OF SOUTHWEST ART AND JEWELRY. THIS WAS BOUGHT IN TUCSON MANY YEARS AGO. STATEMENT PIECE WITH OPALS SET IN SILVER NECKLACE AN OUTSTANDING SOUTHWESTERN TRIBE WELL CRAFTED SIVER AND OPAL NECKLACE. THE OPALS HAVE AN AMAZING FIRE AND GREEN, BLUE AND SPARKLE. WE ARE NOT SURE WHAT KIND OF OPAL IT IS, IT LOOKS LIKE OPAL FROM COOBER PEDY, AUSTRALIA, MAYBE IT IS RECONSTRUCTURED OPAL. THE FIRE IS AMAZING. Circumference: 28″ THE LONGEST OPAL IS ALMOST 2″. IT GRADUATES TO THE SMALLEST ONE WHICH IS ALMOST 1″ PLEASE NOTE THAT THE BUST ON THE PICTURE IS NOT LIFESIZE. WE ARE NOT EXPERTS IN INDIAN CRAFTS AND ANTIQUES BUT DESCRIBE THE NECKLACE TO THE BEST OF OUR KNOWLEDGE. THIS IS A POWER PIECE, ABSOLUTELY MAGNIFICENT TO WEAR. AMAZING COLORS IN THE OPALS. Beautiful Vintage Native American Sterling Silver & Turquoise Squash Blossom Necklace. Necklace has a total length of 24″ long end to end not including the naja. The naja measures 3″ x 2-1/2″. This is a very old double strand Southwest, Turquoise & heishi necklace. It was strung on silk, and I had to have it restrung w/sterling lobster claw enclosure & secure “horseshoe attachments,” which will never come undone. We had to restring on silk because the heishi is so tiny metal wiring would not fit through the holes. An awesome necklace, the longest strand is 28″ long & the other is 24″ long. The turquoise is an unbelievable blue with lots of matrix.
