Herbert is mentioned and his hallmark is shown in “American Indian Jewelry I, 1200 Artist Biographies” by Gregory Schaaf. This men’s watch is a fine example of Herbert’s work. Inlay looks to consist of turquoise, spiny shell, white shell, and black jet. Work is done to a very shiny finish! Each watch tip measures 1″ wide at point of attachment to watch face and 7/8″ wide connecting to watch band. As with most Native American Indian watches, these tips are formed on a curvature. Total length of watch tips and face=3 3/4″ Each side of inlaid tips are framed with work done to appear like beads of sterling silver. Watch face as pictured is included with purchase. It has a white background, black numerals and silver tone hands and second hand. Complimentary 5/8″ wide stainless steel flexible watch band included with purchase. Interior relaxed measure=7″ with max stretch of 8″ Interior or each watch tip is stamped with artist hallmark and Zuni. Markings are more visible in person vs our picture. New and never worn.
